WATS 24.1 is here, it’s official. Actually, it’s been out for some time now, but we’ve been extra busy making sure everyone gets to grips with all the new features nice and quickly. So, now that the dust has settled, it’s time to recap why it’s such a major release and what you can expect from it.
WATS Alvea: AI Technology Transforming Data Into Insight
If you’ve been using WATS for any amount of time, you’ll be familiar with how good a job it does of showing you in a clear way how well your tests/products/batches, whatever you’re tracking, are performing. Well, WATS Alvea takes that approach one step further.
Without getting too technical – WATS Alvea is part of our Manufacturing Intelligence vision and project, which is made up of technologies that help you make more informed decisions. WATS Alvea is an engine in WATS that utilizes AI to carry out root cause analysis and analyze data on its own. That means that WATS Alvea surfaces insight for you, making suggestions that are relevant to the way you use the platform.

Test Step Analysis Gets A Makeover
Test Step Yield and Analysis is one of our most popular tools. Actually, it’s the most popular tool – everyone uses it – so we thought it was time it got the update treatment. From now on, it will be known as Test Step Analysis and it’s been completely rewritten so that it can continue to support all WATS users in the work they do. That’s been no small undertaking, but we’re really excited about the impact it’s going to have on everyone using the platform.
The revamped Test Step Analysis feature boasts faster loading times, enhanced graphing options, and a more thorough analysis capability. With the ability to plot data across multiple dimensions, users can now gain deeper insights into the root causes of failures and performance variances. This comprehensive approach to data visualization empowers users to drive quality improvements across all aspects of testing and manufacturing.

Enterprise Connections Tool
In 24.1, using the Enterprise Connections tool, you’ll be able to choose which data is pushed from one WATS account to another. Basically, it authenticates between two different accounts, and you then sync the data. For an EMS working for several OEMs, they can run multiple sync jobs in the background and send all the data they need out in one go. Previously you had to get a login and effectively deposit the data directly, but not anymore. Across all the users we support, this is going to save an enormous amount of time and hassle.

What’s Next?
By listening to our users and focusing on the features that matter most, we’ve crafted a suite of tools that truly align with the needs of test data management in manufacturing, and that is a trend we intend to continue.
We have our experience and expertise, but so much of how WATS evolves comes directly from the passionate base of users. Clearly, there are broader developments in AI and ML that are taking over lots of other platforms, but the commitment we’re making is to not get swept up in the hype and build things that truly make a difference to you.
